Get more from every cylinder.

Arko's burner draws more heat from the same gas, so each cylinder lasts longer and burns cleaner.

Developed in a leading Indian energy research laboratory. Patent filed.

A conventional burner loses about a third of its heat.

An open flame spreads heat in every direction. Only part of it reaches the pan. The rest passes into the air around it, and that gas was paid for too.

India imports more than half of its cooking gas. Fuel a burner wastes is fuel the country has to import.

Open flame: heat spreads outward and escapes.

So we changed how it burns.

In Arko, the flame sits inside a surface that glows and radiates its heat upward, onto the pan. Less heat escapes to the sides, so more of the gas does useful work.

Radiant surface: heat is directed up into the pan.

What that measures out to.

Thermal efficiency, measured under IS 4246 on the same test.

  • Roughly 15 to 18% less gas for the same cooking, depending on the stove replaced.
  • 2.0 to 2.6 kg saved on a standard 14.2 kg household cylinder.
  • Carbon monoxide of 0 to 30 ppm and NOx of 0 to 9 ppm, measured in operation.
  • Stable across 20, 30 and 90 mbar, the regulator pressures used with PNG and LPG.

Figures measured under India's standard water boiling test, IS 4246. What you save in practice depends on the stove replaced and how it is used.

In a commercial kitchen, it pays back in months.

A kitchen going through six cylinders a month saves close to one of them, about ₹2,000 at current prices. On the commercial unit, that pays back the burner in three to five months.

Roughly one cylinder in six, saved.

It runs on more than one fuel.

Arko runs on LPG and PNG today, tested across the regulator pressures used in Indian kitchens. The same design is built for biogas and for the hydrogen blends being introduced into India's gas network, with no change of hardware.
